Take the pledge and enter the Respect My Ride marketing contest!
- What: We need materials to promote the Respect My Ride campaign in schools! Use your artistic talent to create a poster, sculpture or photo that we can use to promote smoke-free cars.
- Who: Any Dakota County student/resident 15-18 years old.
- EXTENDED Deadline: Tuesday, December 9. No late entries will be accepted!
- How: See contest rules below. Submit an entry here.
- Prizes: The winners from each category (poster, photo and sculpture) will receive a $100 Amazon gift card.
Marketing Contest Rules
To Enter:
- Submit a photograph, poster or sculpture that shows why you think it's important to keep your car smoke-free.
- Your entry must include the Respect My Ride logo and Web site address: http://www.respectmyride.org//.
- Upload your photo (or a photo of your sculpture or poster) to Flickr, Facebook or MySpace. Tag it "respectmyride" and include the URL in the submission form (we'll use the original creation in our marketing efforts).
- Briefly answer the following questions and include it with your submission.
- Why do you think it is important to have a smoke-free car?
- What motivated you to develop this specific project (for example, personal experience, advertisements, classes you have taken, etc.)?
- Entries must be submitted by Tuesday, December 9, 2008 (no exceptions).
Important!
- You must be 15-18 years old and live or go to school in Dakota County, MN.
- By submitting an entry you are agreeing to take the smoke-free car pledge.
- Your submissions are subject to the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike license
- If you are under 18 years of age, you must submit a parental/legal guardian consent form (download it).
Prohibited:
- No use of ANY actual tobacco products or paraphernalia is permitted, including but not limited to cigarettes, cartons of tobacco or pipes.
- No person can be shown in a photograph with ANY actual or fake tobacco products.
- Fake tobacco products may appear in a photo if a person does not appear in the photo.
- You may draw or sculpt something that represents a tobacco product.
- In no way should the art glorify smoking.
- Creations that are obscene, include nudity, are overtly sexual, gratuitously or graphically violent, or include hate speech are ineligible for the contest.
- Creations cannot portray anyone involved in risky, questionable or illegal activities.
- Do not include any information that could specifically identify where a person lives (i.e. the address) or other personal information.
Determining the Winner:
- Dakota County Public Health Department has the sole discretion to approve or reject submissions and will review all submitted creations for inclusion in the contest. All submissions are subject to disqualification if formal rules are not followed.
